Cleanse as a Ritual - Tips from Kiyoka

Cleanse as a

Ritual

Spring is a wonderful time for a fresh start and also for detox & cleanse our body, mind and spirit.

In kundalini yoga and various forms of yoga, purification of our body and mind are a very important part of the practice. It helps our holistic wellness and spiritual development.

I find many beneficial effects of cleanse with the regular practice of yoga and meditation. It improves the flexibility of my body and also really helps to heal my mental and psychic knots and bonds that cause suffering and limitation in my life.

Kiyoka likes to do a short cleanse, usually 1 - 6 days, every month with a moon cycle.
Some people may practice for 40 days and more. 11 days and 21 days are also popular too.
You can start with a shorter period that suits your lifestyle and gradually increase the length of the period as you become an advanced fasting practitioner.

It has become a ritual to release my strong attachment to food (I have a huge appetite and love food!) and also give my digestive system time to rest.

Hot Tip:

Always break a fast slowly and make modest changes by adding fruits, then grains, maybe dairy if you are not vegan etc.

Our brain waves and the feeling of hunger are so closely related. Having a higher frequency in your brain waves is the key to the smooth, joyful, happy fasting. Meditate everyday and fill yourself with lots of love and gratitude during the fasting period.
