Cleanse as a Ritual - Tips from Kiyoka
In kundalini yoga and various forms of yoga, purification of our body and mind are a very important part of the practice. It helps our holistic wellness and spiritual development.
Kiyoka likes to do a short cleanse, usually 1 - 6 days, every month with a moon cycle.
Some people may practice for 40 days and more. 11 days and 21 days are also popular too.
You can start with a shorter period that suits your lifestyle and gradually increase the length of the period as you become an advanced fasting practitioner.
Here are some suggested menus from thet kundalini yoga manual:
Mung beans & rice diet:
Good for kidneys, colon and digestive organs
Eat only mung beans and rice for 30 days. as an option, cook vegetables into it.
Fruits & yogi tea can be taken between meals
Good during the cold season
Fruit fast:
Eat only fruit for one months
Three bowls of fruit a day
Eat only one kind of fruit at a time
Good for spring time
Green Diet:
A rebuilding diet, alkalinize the body, for losing weight, clearing the skin, cleanses the liver, relieves toxic mucus conditions
40days of green foods: salads, steamed greens, avocados, sprouts, mung beans, green fruit
To end the fast, add fruit, then grains
Hot Tip:
Always break a fast slowly and make modest changes by adding fruits, then grains, maybe dairy if you are not vegan etc.
Our brain waves and the feeling of hunger are so closely related. Having a higher frequency in your brain waves is the key to the smooth, joyful, happy fasting. Meditate everyday and fill yourself with lots of love and gratitude during the fasting period.
Enjoy!
Lots of love and blessings,
Kiyoka ❤️
