A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
The month of July is a 7 in numerology. In tantric Numerology, the number 7 correlates to the water element, which also represents the fluids in the body.
July is a wonderful time to cleanse the blood in the body which we can do using our breath. By clearing our bodies of excess heat, we can better prepare ourselves as we enter into August, one of the hottest months in the western hemisphere. August is 8 in numerology and relates to the pranic body, which is the breath. You can learn how to detox, relax, inspire and elevate yourself using the science of pranayama.
Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or someone just beginning … the power of the breath can change your life.
The practice of Pranayama means learning how to breath fully and with control. These powerful practices can keep you calm, intuitive, less stressed and can even help you look and feel younger.
Here is how the breath works:
“Your brain controls thirty trillion living cells perfectly and replaces them every seventy-two hours by the sensory ions of the planet Earth. And that sensory ion is called Praana, the vital force circulating through us, also referred to as the breath, is carried by the air, called pawan. That’s your basis.“ – Yogi Bhajan
“You can live with food or without food. You can live with or without emotion. You can live without everything else but you cannot live with-out the praana (breath).” – Yogi Bhajan
Every occurrence in life is an opportunity to get in touch with our breath. All yoga and meditation is based on how you breathe and cultivating the awareness of your breath.
The ability to breathe gives us the ability to perceive. When our breath is shallow we are not able to see , hear or feel the situation in our higher most intuitive self. Becoming aware of the breath helps us come closer to understanding ourselves and how to heal our mental and physical ailments. Pranayama is a way to manipulate the breath for a specific outcome.
Below is one of my favorite Breath series for you to try:
Use this breathing exercise to maximize a slowing down energy to become more intuitive, calm and present in your life.
Our breath is the very existence of life.
The breath controls everything in the body, and comes from our soul.
We are alive because the breath moves and dances through us.
Whether you are looking to calm the mind, focus the mind, release emotion or work on your radiance, pranayama can help you achieve this. Try adding at least 3 minutes of pranayama practice to your daily rituals and experience how you feel over a course of 7 days. Give yourself a chance to establish a sense of your own divine beauty and radiance.
